This evening, Brisbane's Artisan gallery launches its annual Christmas retail showcase, Cherish. The Cherish selection is made up of pieces from over 70 Australian artists and designers all chosen through an application and invitation process. I'm very excited to have some of my latest collection included in the showcase.
The gallery bills Cherish as "a must-see collection of unusual and fascinating creations crafted by local and national artists, experience the latest in textiles, ceramics, contemporary glass, lighting and extraordinary jewellery. Be inspired by colour, form and texture, and be seduced by a selection ranging from the curious to the exquisite." So if you're in Brisbane and on the lookout for Christmas gift ideas this would be a great place to start.
Also opening at the gallery are two exhibitions, Northern Stars - a showcase exhibition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from the Djumbunji Press KickArts Fine Art Printmaking Studio and Indigenous Castings - a selection of uniquely cast sculptures by Indigenous artists from the foundry at Urban Art Projects.
