Vintage Marimekko Bag

My good friend Shelley asked me to make her a Brigitte bag from a piece of vintage Marimekko fabric that she had stashed away. Here are some images of the transformation.

 
Bags are a great way to use up pieces of precious fabric remnants.There are more than 20 pieces of fabric, lining and interfacing that go into making a bag like this. Although this bag used less than half of the piece of vintage fabric shown in the first picture. The bag was finished off with a large vintage glass button from my collection.  There are some ready made Brigitte bags available on the Jaime Beattie website.

Young Designer's Market - Brisbane

Little Things

I'm adding some adorable little things to the website this week. For the first time ever I'll be selling things that I didn't actually design myself.

I've had these cute badges and colourful lucite rings for ages so I am excited to finally have them in the shop. The badges are sold in sets of 2 and are in the shop right now. The lucite rings will be added this weekend. I don't think I can get any more of these so if you like them grab them while you can.

New Purses and Bags in the Shop

This post is a little late today as I've been flat out adding more purses and bags to the website. Here are a couple of snapshots of the new stock.

Clockwise from Top Left: Nikita coin purses, Lola handbag, Estella purse, Sophia gathered clutch all in fabric 5104. You can find all items that have this fabric by entering 5104 into the search field at the top right hand corner of the Jaime Beattie website.

And finally, some gorgeous new styles from our upcoming collection. Lola (top row) is a frame handbag featuring a kisslock closure, shaped handles and a combination of print and plain fabric. Sophia (second row) is a  feminine clutch featuring a softly gathered front and solid colour back panel.

There are plenty more new items so hop over to the website and check out the New Items section. Some of the cuffs and all of the necklaces have sold out already, so don't delay. If you see a sold out item that you really want, just send us an email and we will see if we can make one specially for you.
