Ceramics II: The creepy and the kooky

Yes, apparently ceramics can get a little odd. First up some cute little eccentric pieces followed by some a little more bizarre.

Ceramics I: It's all white

Am rapidly losing my patience with this wretched cold. But, will soldier on this week and show you some more ceramics - a thing I have a growing appreciation for (not quite an obsession... yet).

... Jonathan Adler's new relief vases. Also, I have a nasty cold so the sunny colours in this picture make me feel a little more cheery. Time for a cup of tea and a little lie down.

Sally Elford

UK-based artist, Sally Elford, has produced a collection of prints that depict scenes in nature and have a wonderful vintage feel. I simply adore that 'Mid Summer Spectacle' print at the top. All the prints are limited edition, signed and numbered by the artist. These prints are available at the Soma shop and Boxbird. Also check out Sally's website to see more of her work. 

Bionic Unicorn

There is a lot of recycled and re-purposed jewellery around these days, but none I believe as exquisite and superbly crafted as Bionic Unicorn. Minneapolis-based designer, Kristin, blends chain, vintage faux pearls, watch parts, enamel flowers, vintage chandelier crystals and feathers to create stunning and unique wearble art. The Butter Flying

I'm so glad Sylvie from The Butter Flying emailed me about her beautiful creations. They are so pretty and serene and her use of colour is delightful. She makes everything by hand using paper, beads and found objects. Very inspiring. Check out The Butter Flying etsy store and blog.

Mud Australia

Mud Australia is the perfect example of a small business which adheres to its beliefs of craft, community and sustainability while producing a collection of ceramics to rival any designer (and mass-produced) tableware. Their porcelain range is handmade in their Sydney factory by professional and amateur ceramicists. Visit their website to find stockist details.

Chelsea Greene Lewyta

These gorgeous paintings are by New Yorker, Chelsea Greene Lewyta. They remind me of the beautiful books I used to read as a child, like The Water-Babies and The Magic Faraway Tree. Absolutely delightful! Chelsea is still studying at the Pratt Institute for Illustration in New York but her future definitely looks bright. I'm sure we'll see her a lot more of her illustrations in years to come. You can purchase Chelsea's art as a greeting card or print from her Redbubble store here.

Tea Pony

Designer Esa West has a true gift when it comes to creating children's clothes. Her label, Tea Pony, features the sweetest dresses with vintage styling and adorable detailing. Esa says that she was inspired to make clothing for babies that she would like to wear herself. She is also careful to design clothes that fit well and are comfortable for little ones.

Hello! to everyone who is visiting from Bloesem. I am very excited to be a guest blogger for Irene while she takes some time with her adorable little baby Kiet.

My name is Jaime and I live in Brisbane, Australia with my husband and two children. I have a fashion accessories label, Jaime Beattie, and also have a little etsy shop with a few different things in there too. I started Paisley St Claire over a year ago and really enjoy sharing the wonderful things to be found on the internet. I decided not to restrict myself to a particular theme on my blog, just that posts should be about things that I genuinely like and I always try to be positive and not write anything which is likely to upset someone.
